Minute   Description
Lyon may look back at tonight and kick themselves should their last two matches against Manchester City here and away to Shakhtar Donetsk not go to plan. Meanwhile, Hoffenheim welcome the Ukrainians to Germany at the end of November, before ending the group with a visit to City. Nagelsmann’s side must win both to stand any chance of qualification. That wraps up our coverage, thanks for reading along!
90'+4 Hoffenheim look to go for a winner as Joelinton heads over a cross floated up in the box. What a game this has been.
90'+2 Joelinton's input was invaluable for the visitors. He's terrified Lyon in the air all game.
GOOOOAAALL! Hoffenheim have completed the comeback and that is a HUGE goal for the Bundesliga side. Morel’s foul proves costly as Joelinton flicks on a free-kick to the back post, where Kaderabek is lurking to side-foot in an equaliser. 2-2. How have Lyon let this slip?
90'+1 Confirmation of Morel's yellow card for fouling Joelinton on the break.
Mendy produces a save from Baumann before Hoffenheim find themselves four on four. Morel fouls to prevent a further counter.
90' Baumann races off his line to stop Dembele claiming a loose ball in between Hoffenheim's defence and goal.
89' Traore gets involved straight away as he sees a left-footed shot blocked away for a corner.
88' The Lyon substitutions keep on coming. The very impressive NDombele is the one making way this time. Cheikh takes his place.
87' Genesio sends on more fresh legs in the form of Traore, as Depay walks off.
86' Dembele bursts through a cluster of players into the box, checks back on his right foot and then hits a tame shot low towards Baumann.
84' Lyon counter immediately after. Depay dawdles on the left only for Hoffenheim to break themselves, ending with Joelinton blazing a shot high and wide. The home side need to switch on.
82' Nelson hits the deck before Denayer gets in the way of a shot from Schulz. These are frantic times.
81' Lyon should have made it 3-0 and they were almost queuing up. NDombele carries the ball over the halfway line before sliding in Dembele. The striker unselfishly tees up Depay, but the ball is just behind the Dutchman and duly blocked.
79' A midfield change for Hoffenheim sees Nordtveit replace Demirbay.
Hoffenheim counter through Nelson and Kramaric before Joelinton loses balance and hits a shot way off target.
78' Depay tries his luck from 25 yards but it's easy enough for Baumann to gather.
74' Fekir gets a well-earned rest. Dembele replaces Lyon's talisman.
73' Fekir turns and shoots in the box, aiming for the bottom-left corner but Baumann does well to parry away.
72' Joelinton is booked for an earlier challenge before Vogt saw yellow.
Hoffenheim captain Vogt body-checks Fekir as the Lyon captain tries to play a one-two. It's a free-kick in a dangerous position for Depay to deliver.
71' It really is end-to-end at the moment. Hoffenheim are suddenly inspired by Kramaric's surprise goal.
70' Lyon counter after two Hoffenheim players get in the way of each other at the other end. Mendy soon curls a cross round everyone for Fekir at the back-post, but the number 18 can't bring it under control.
69' Lopes takes no chances with a bobbling header from Kramaric, palming it away for a corner.
67' Szalai replaces Belfodil as Nagelsmann guns for an equaliser.
65' Bicakcic takes the assist. Could the Lyon defence and keeper have done more to keep Kramaric out?
GOOOOAL! Hoffenheim have one back completely against the run of play. Kramaric scuffs a shot from outside the area that finds the bottom-left corner. Lopes wrong-footed himself when the Croatian took aim and now it’s 2-1…
64' Tousart goes for a spectacular volley on the spin despite originally facing away from goal, but Baumann catches it.
63' Lyon's man advantage has seen Rafael causing problems for Hoffenheim on the right wing. He wins a free-kick which is shortly overhit by Depay. The home side reset before the Dutchman finds Rafael with a cut-back, who misses the target.
61' Mendy keeps running and running before letting fly. Too high this time from Lyon's left-back.
59' Lyon haven't quite gone for the jugular since Hoffenheim went down to ten men. There's still half-an-hour or so to play here.
57' Nelson comes on for Grillitsch bearing scraps of paper for Joelinton to read.
NDombele benefits from a quick free-kick by taking aim from distance. His effort goes over the bar, though.
56' Grillitsch is down on the ground receiving treatment. It looks like Nelson will replace him.
54' Mendy pulls off one of the neatest, shortest chipped passes you'll ever see to Fekir, who volleys straight at Baumann. Almost goal number three there for Lyon!
53' GOAL... disallowed. Depay whips in the ensuing free-kick to the far post where Denayer helps it over the line. The flag goes up for offside soon after.
51' Fekir glides past Nuhu far too easily and it proves to be Nuhu's second yellow. It's been a nightmare debut in the competition for the Ghanaian.
49' A swift attacking move ends with Aouar shooting over the bar with Mendy in space to his left.
48' A yellow card is shown to Bicakcic after a foul on Fekir.
47' Joelinton generates a lot of power with a shot from 30 yards out, but it's straight at Lopes.
46' Depay restarts for the second half.
Hoffenheim forced a number of fine saves from Lopes, but have a mountain to climb if they're to stay in the qualification hunt, with City 2-0 up against Shakhtar elsewhere in Group F. The hosts' confidence grew as the half went on, and Genesio will hope for more from Depay up top to see this one out.
That was a strange half with both sides relatively even throughout, but it’s Lyon who end it two to the good. Hoffenheim enjoyed a great spell of early pressure before a scramble in their box ended with Fekir netting for the first time since September. NDombele added his side's second nine minutes later thanks to strong running from Mendy, and a huge deflection off Vogt.
44' Tousart steps out from midfield while Fekir screams for the ball in behind. The former opts for an overhit chipped pass over the top, which Baumann gathers safely.
43' Grillitsch stops NDombele getting away on the right, meaning he also goes into the book.
41' This one is just simmering down as we approach the half-time whistle.
39' Aouar gets past Nuhu with a stepover and then opts to side-foot across goal on his right foot. Baumann then gets down low to clear with his feet.
36' Lopes is forced to steer a stinging effort wide from Demirbay. That shot was travelling towards the top corner.
35' Fekir is involved with everything at the moment. Joelinton just experienced a tough tackle in Lyon's half from the Frenchman.
33' Nuhu takes a chance and appears to swipe Fekir as he gears up to shoot, allowing Hoffenheim to clear. The defender is already on a yellow.
30' Aouar earns a corner thanks to his quick feet on the left byline. He's also on hand at the back post but heads wide.
28' Mendy galloped towards the Hoffenheim box and had the presence of mind to pick out NDombele.
GOOOAALL! NDombele makes it 2-0 with a huge slice of luck. The midfielder side-foots a cutback into Vogt and past Baumann. It’s been a close match but Lyon have had that cutting edge – and fortune.
Schulz keeps a shot low and hard towards Lopes from a tight angle. The Portuguese stopper tips it out for a corner but Demirbay's delivery evades everybody.
25' Lyon could do with putting together some minutes on the ball here. Fekir is dropping back at times to help out in possession.
21' Hoffenheim are out as it stands with City winning at home to Shakhtar.
19' GOOOOOAAAALLL! Fekir is back in the Champions League and now on the scoresheet. Lyon had so many chances to score before their captain did. First, Mendy smacked the post before NDombele had two attempts on the rebound. Fekir finally bundled it in soon after, despite Baumann’s best efforts. 1-0.
Aouar was one of many involved in the scramble and grabs the official assist.
18' Nuhu goes into the book on his Champions League debut, after the defender stopped Fekir wheeling away on the turn.
17' Joelinton stretches to retrieve an underhit pass just outside the box but gets there after Morel, fouling him in the process.
16' Fekir shoots and misses from distance, much to the annoyance of Depay who wanted the pass.
14' Mendy whips a wicked cross to the back-post. Bicakcic makes the block before the ball hits Fekir square in the face and out for a goal-kick. That’s Lyon’s best attack so far.
12' Demirbay keeps putting the ball in perfect areas for his Hoffenheim team-mates to attack. The latest attempt ricochets back out, only for the German's cross to bounce off Joelinton away from trouble.
11' Again, though, Denayer is the man flicking Hoffenheim's delivery away from danger.
10' Kaderabek chases a ball over the top and earns a corner for his hard work.
8' Fekir jinks around two or three blue shirts before spreading play to the left-hand side, where Mendy can only spoon his cross away from danger.
7' Kramaric and Demirbay both have set-piece opportunities and fizz the ball in well to their team-mates. Lyon manage to survive the spell of early pressure from Hoffenheim.
6' Denayer receives an early yellow for tugging on Joelinton's shirt. That's a battle of two giants to keep an eye on.
5' Lyon countered after the visitors' attack broke down, during which Joelinton went to ground. Only a hopeful penalty appeal came from the Brazilian.
4' Demirbay launches a free-kick towards the front post but Denayer heads away. Hoffenheim come again before the ball can’t quite fall for Joelinton or Kramaric in the box.
3' Rafael chases several different Hoffenheim players in their half and almost steals the ball in a dangerous area.
1' We're underway at the Groupama Stadium.
The teams are out on the pitch. Can Lyon put themselves within touching distance of the knockout stages? There's not long left to wait now.
SUBS: Gregor Kobel, Joshua Brent, Havard Nordtveit, Reiss Nelson, Kevin Akpoguma, Adam Szalai, Vincenzo Grifo.
HOFFENHEIM (3-4-3): Oliver Baumann; Kasim Adams Nuhu, Kevin Vogt, Ermin Bicakcic; Pavel Kaderabek, Florian Grillitsch, Kerem Demirbay, Nico Schulz; Andrej Kramaric, Joelinton, Ishak Belfodil.
SUBS: Mathieu Gorgelin, Fernando Marcal, Pape Cheikh, Martin Terrier, Kenny Tete, Moussa Dembele, Bertrand Traore.
LYON (3-5-2): Anthony Lopes; Marcelo, Jeremy Morel, Jason Denayer; Rafael, Tanguy NDombele, Lucas Tousart, Houssem Aouar, Ferland Mendy; Nabil Fekir, Memphis Depay.
The stats aren’t great for Julian Nagelsmann’s visitors, though, having not won on any of their past five European trips. They do, however, arrive in France on the back of three consecutive Bundesliga victories, with 11 goals scored during that run. Hoffenheim will be unable to qualify from their group should they lose and City beat Shakhtar Donetsk. Team news will be with you shortly…
Lyon are currently second in Group F behind Manchester City, able to boast an impressive away win over the leaders earlier in the competition. The Ligue 1 outfit played out a 3-3 draw two weeks ago with tonight’s opponents, so another goal-fest wouldn’t be go amiss at the Groupama Stadium.
