Bayern advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League as expected after their first-leg demolition. Jupp Heynckes' men were ruthless at the Vodafone Arena to claim a 3-1 win on the night. Strikes from Thiago Alcantara and Sandro Wagner along with an own goal from Gokhan Gonul were enough for the victory, with Vagner Love notching a consolation for Besiktas. The Turkish outfit were outplayed in both legs, with Bayern looking a strong contender to claim the crown.

88' OVER! Quaresma floats a cross to the back post and Gonul heads back to an unmarked Talisca. The midfielder snatches at the ball and blazes his strike over the bar.

He is able to pick out the bottom corner despite the desperate sliding lunge from Vidal, which may have been a spot-kick had it travelled wide.
56' James lifts a cross into the box from the left and Vidal rises with Erkin. It rebounds into the box, but James cannot make contact on the slide as Zengin gets down to smother the ball.
55' WIDE! Lens collects on the edge of the box and goes for the strike on his right foot, but he skews his effort wide of the target under pressure from Vidal.

Bayern were in a dominant position before the start of the match and it has been strengthened by Thiago Alcantara's strike. Jupp Heynckes' men already had a foot in the next round of the Champions League and are now justs 45 minutes away from the quarter-finals. Besiktas have been energetic this evening, but have lacked the quality to put the German outfit under pressure.
45'+1 Alaba swings a cross into the box and Zengin comes through a crowd to punch the ball clear. The referee then ends the first half.

12' Gonul puts pressure on Bayern at the back to latch on to a low ball from Ozyakup. However, Ulreich reacts to steer a clearance out into touch.

STAT! Bayern Munich won the first leg 5-0 – the German side are responsible for three of the six biggest aggregate victories in Champions League knockout stage history (12-1 vs Sporting Lisbon 2008-09, 10-2 vs Arsenal 2016-17 and 7-0 vs Shakhtar Donetsk 2014-15).
Bayern have made just two changes from their win over Hamburg at the weekend. Rafinha and Thiago come into the fold to replace Arjen Robben and Kimmich.

Bayern have been imperious in their last two matches, hammering Freiburg and Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga. They were held to a goalless draw by Hertha Berlin, but Heyckes' men are firing on all cylinders.
Besiktas are unbeaten in their domestic form since their defeat against the German side at the end of February. They've won three matches in the Super Lig to maintain the pressure on Galatasaray at the top of the table, beating Genclerbirligi last time out. Senol Gunes' side also played out a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their Super Cup semi-final clash against Fenerbahce. However, they will need to be flawless today.
Bayern are in complete command of the round-of-16 clash, having recorded a 5-0 hammering of the Turkish outfit at the Allianz Arena. Jupp Heynckes' men will want to see this contest out with as little drama as possible.
