Minute   Description
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Harry Kane's perfect hat-trick guides Tottenham to their second win on the bounce in the Champions League. Spurs needed their star man this evening as they were not on form in the first half as APOEL put them under pressure. However, once he found the net the game turned in the visitors' favour and Kane was able to put the Cypriot side to the sword with two fine efforts in the second half to secure the three points.
90'+3 The referee ends the contest.
90'+2 Tottenham are content to knock the ball around the back and the middle of the park to see out the match.
90' There will be three minutes of added time.
N'Koudou raids down the left flank and into the box. He has time to strike at goal, but smashes his effort into the side-netting.
88' Makris latches on to De Carmago's flick into space and he surges into the right inside channel, but his cutback for Alexandro goes behind the midfielder. Tottenham are then able to scramble the ball behind for a corner.
86' OVER! Rueda strikes the resulting free-kick at goal and he sends his effort over the wall, but he gets too much height on the strike sending it over the bar.
85' Winks brings down Farias 25 yards from goal and goes into the book. APOEL have a free-kick in a decent position.
84' Georgiou replaces Sissoko for the visitors.
Morais makes way for Alexandrou.
82' BLOCK! Space opens up for N'Koudou, but his strike is well blocked by Vouros in the box.
80' Llorente proves his worth at the back for Spurs as he towers above the yellow shirts to clear Vinicius' cross away from the box.
79' Lago lifts a cross to the back post and the ball deflects into the path of Zahid, but his effort is deflected behind for a corner.
76' SAVE! Zahid has space on the left flank and he cuts back on to his right foot to fire at goal, but Lloris gets down well to make the stop.
75' Kane gets a standing ovation as he is replaced by N'Koudou.
Aloneftis makes way for Farias.
74' Kane lines up a strike from distance and for the first time of the evening his effort sails off target.
72' Dier raids forward down the right flank and picks out Kane down the left flank. Dier looks for the return at the back post, but Waterman cuts off the cross in the six-yard box.
69' WIDE! Son almost gets on the scoresheet as he pounces on a loose ball in the box, but drills his effort wide of the post. Tottenham are well on top now.
67' Trippier puts a pinpoint cross into the box for Kane to head home.
GOALLLLL!!!! KANE HAS HIS HAT-TRICK! The forward is a class apart! Kane notches his third goal of the evening as he drifts into the box to latch onto Trippier's cross from the right and guides his header into the bottom corner beyond the reach of Waterman. A superb performance from the England striker.
65' Tottenham finally have control of the game as they're knocking the ball around the pitch with ease for the first time in the contest.
63' Makris replaces Sallai for the home side.
62' Sissoko rolls the ball to Kane on the edge of the box, allowing the striker to apply the finish.
GOALLLLL!!!! KANE DOES IT AGAIN! Spurs double their lead a minute after looking vulnerable at the back. Kane collects on the edge of the box from Sissoko and takes one touch on to his right foot before placing his strike into the bottom corner. It's precise finishing from the England, who had the smallest of gaps fit the ball through on its way to the net.
61' CHANCE! Aloneftis again causes problems down the left flank and he lifts a cross to the near post for De Camargo to head at goal, but he guides his effort wide of the post.
60' WIDE! Sallai latches on to a ball over the top of the Spurs defence, but with options around him, he opts to go alone and fires wide of the target.
57' Llorente replaces Aurier, with Spurs switching to a four-man backline.
55' SAVE! Morais releases Aloneftis down the left flank and he beats Aurier for pace to strike the ball towards the top corner. However, Lloris makes a fine reaction stop to turn the ball ove the bar. Tottenham were stretched there.
53' Aloneftis swings a cross to the back post and Trippier switches off for a second, but De Carmago cannot turn the ball towards the net.
51' Vinicius goes into the book for a foul on Winks.
50' Aloneftis goes on a surge into the left inside channel between Aurier and Dier and goes to ground in the box. However, the referee turns down his appeal for a penalty.
48' CHANCE! The home side threaten again as De Carmago releases Sallai's run insde the box. The forward has time to shoot on the volley, but his effort is saved with ease by Lloris. That was a real chance for APOEL to get back into the game.
47' OVER! APOEL hit back at the visitors as Sallai heads back to Zahid inside the box, but he sends his half-volley over the bar. Bright start to the second half.
46' WIDE! Spurs threaten immediately from the restart as Kane feeds Son in the left inside channel, but the winger pulls his effort wide of the post.
We're back underway in Nicosia.
The players are back out for the second half, so we should be underway shortly.
Tottenham hold a 1-0 lead at the break in Nicosia thanks to Harry Kane's strike. Spurs have been far from their best and could have gone behind to APOEL when Igor de Camargo found space on the left, but he struck the bar. Hugo Lloris also had a close call when he smacked his clearance of Davinson Sanchez, but the ball rolled wide of the post. Kane bailed out his team-mates with a fine finish six minutes before the break to cover up the blemishes of the opening period.
45' The referee ends the first half.
Rueda makes a vital interception at the back to stop Son's pass from right to left reaching Davies in space. He had to make that challenge otherwise the defender was through on goal.
44' Davies is alert at the back to clear the danger away from De Carmago after Aloneftis' pass look destined to find the forward at the back post.
41' Tottenham were looking ragged in the first half before Kane put them ahead. They were far from their best, but one mistake from the home side has allowed Spurs into the lead.
39' Waterman goes into the book for dissent.
Alderweireld releases Kane with a fine throughball.
GOALLLLLL!!! KANE BREAKS THE DEADLOCK! Tottenham take the lead as the forward plays on the shoulder of the last defender and latches on to Alderweireld's pass forward. He keeps his composure and strokes the ball into the bottom corner with his left foot. A simple finish from Kane, which will calm his side's nerves.
37' CLOSE! Lloris almost makes a horrendous error at the back as he comes off his line to clear the ball. He smashes the ball straight off Sanchez and bounces towards the Tottenham goal. Fortunately for the keeper it trickles just wide of the post.
36' CHANCE! Zahid swings the ball to the back post and Carlao escapes the attention of Alderweireld, only to head wide of the post with the goal at his mercy. What an opportunity for the home side.
35' Aloneftis raids down the left flank and although he cannot put a cross into the box, he does in a corner off the legs of Aurier.
32' Tottenham win another corner and Dier makes a run to the near post to latch on to Davies' cross, but he can only send his effort over the bar.
30' Trippier advances down the left and has space to send in a cross, but once again the delivery from Spurs is not on point. Pochettino will not be pleased with his side's final ball.
28' Kane collects in space on the edge of the box, but he dwells too long on the ball and is caught in possession.
25' Davies has another opportunity to swing a corner in from the right flank, but his delivery is headed clear by Carlao for the home side.
23' Tottenham are yet to hit their stride in the match. The changes that have been enforced since the weekend have limited their options in the final third and it all looks confused at the moment.
21' Waterman takes a chance at the back as he attempts to beat Son with skill. Fortunately for the keeper he avoids the Spurs forward and knocks the ball away from goal.
20' APOEL flood men forward again and Lago has space on the left flank to drive an effort towards the net, but slams his shot into the side-netting.
19' OFF THE BAR! APOEL come within inches of breaking the deadlock. Aloneftis sends the ball to De Carmago in the left inside channel and he strikes with power towards the top corner. His effort strikes the woodwork and bounces to safety for the visitors. A let off for Pochettino's men.
18' OVER! Trippier raids down the right flank and whips a dangerous cross into the middle. Son pulls off his man and heads towards goal, but he sends his effort over the bar.
17' WIDE! The home side push forward down the right and Vouros swings a cross into the box for Sallai to head at goal, but he guides his effort wide of the target.
15' Aurier slides an inside pass to Davies in the right inside channel, but he fails to pick out a white shirt in the box, allowing APOEL to clear at the near post.
14' Spurs are struggling for rhythm in the early stages of the contest. The home side are well organised at the back and making life tough for Kane in the final third.
12' Kane takes possession on the edge of the box, but he fails to get the better of Lago, who dispossesses the striker as he attempts to turn.
10' Winks steals the ball from Vouros in a decent position, but Davies' pass goes astray down the left inside channel.
8' Rueda almost allows Son and Kane to pounce on a mistake at the back, but he manages to get it away from the duo before they can pounce on the loose ball.
6' APOEL cope with the first wave of Tottenham pressure by clearing their lines, but they have started the contest sitting fairly deep.
5' Davies swings the first corner to the near post, but Rueda clears ahead of Alderweireld, but only behind for another Tottenham corner.
4' CHANCE! Tottenham break with speed and Winks sends the ball out wide to Aurier in space. He fires the ball across the face of goal where Carlao fails to clear at the first attempt, but he responds by blocking Son's effort at goal behind for a corner.
2' Alderweireld sends a long ball forward, but it's ahead of Kane and that allows the home side to clear the danger from their box.
1' We're underway in this Champions League clash.
The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
STAT ATTACK! APOEL's only meeting against English opposition came in the 2009/10 Champions League season. They were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea in Nicosia, but did manage to secure a 2-2 draw in their clash at Stamford Bridge.
STAT ATTACK! No Cypriot side has ever beaten English opposition in European competition in 12 attempts.
Kieran Trippier, Son and Harry Winks all start this evening as Pochettino moves Aurier into an advanced position on the right flank, with Sissoko also moving forward behind Kane.
Dele Alli is still serving his three-match suspension and misses tonight's match for the visitors. He is one of three changes to the Spurs' team from their win over West Ham as Eriksen misses out, while Vertonghen is also suspended following his dismissal against Dortmund.
APOEL have made four changes from their draw against Aris at the weekend. Jesus Rueda, Vinicius, Roberto Lago and Roland Sallai all come into the fold to take on Spurs this evening.
Tottenham subs: Vorm, Nkoudou, Llorente, Foyth, Walker-Peters, Georgiou, Oakley-Boothe.
TOTTENHAM (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Trippier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies; Winks, Dier; Aurier, Sissoko, Son; Kane.
APOEL subs: Gudino, Alexandrou, Makris, Antoniou, Merkis, Farias, Pote.
APOEL (4-4-2): Waterman; Vouros, Rueda, Carlao, Lago; Sallai, Vinicius, Morais, Aloneftis; Zahid, De Carmago.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
APOEL have struggled for form even in the Cypriot First Divison, taking just four points from their opening three matches. They've recorded just one victory in their last five matches and were held to a goalless draw by Aris last time out.
Spurs needed to desperately hold on at the weekend to defeat to West Ham at London Stadium. Harry Kane's brace along with Christian Eriksen's strike had put them in command, but Serge Aurier's dismissal left them vulnerable. Javier Hernandez and Cheikou Kouyate set up a tense finale, but Pochettino's men held out for the win.
Tottenham have an excellent chance to string back-to-back victories against the weakest team in Group H. The Cypriot side were brushed aside by Real Madrid in the opener, but will be hopeful of springing a surprise this evening to deny the English club the three points in Nicosia.
Spurs kicked off their European campaign with a convincing win over Borussia Dortmund as a brace from Harry Kane and a strike from Son Heung-min guided them to the three points at Wembley. Mauricio Pochettino's men had struggled at the stadium in their previous contests - therefore he would have been delighted to kickstart their Champions League term with an emphatic win.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Champions League clash between APOEL and Tottenham.
