Minute   Description
That's it for us today though! We hope you enjoyed our live coverage of Schalke v Borussia Dortmund, and will join us again soon!
This loss is surely a concerning one for Dortmund who, not only lost to their rivals, but now will likely have to finish their campaign, and Champions League push, without their active scoring leader, Michy Batshuayi.
The win makes Schalke an almost near lock for a top four place and involvement in next season's Champions League. As for today, they had the better of the wide areas with Caligiuri and Konoplyanka both putting in fantastic performances.
2-0 to the home side and it was a deserved result as they did far more with their possession than Dortmund.
90'+6 The whistle blows and Schalke have won the Revierderby!!!
90'+3 Batshuayi is carted off with what appears to be an ankle injury. This is a big concern for Dortmund, the Belgian set up, and the player himself who will surely be hoping that this does not jeopardize his World Cup dreams.
90'+1 Stambouli makes a fantastic clearance before Batshuayi could get there, but his follow through connected with, and hurt the Belgian. He is now being tended to by the medical staff.
90' Peter Stoger looks crestfallen on the Dortmund bench. Hard to imagine he will be their manager next season.
87' If you were expecting Domenico Tedesco to throw on a defender to see out the match... guess again. Forward Franco di Santo comes on for Harit.
Schurrle cuts in from the right flank and whips in a shot, but there's not enough power on it and Fahrmann catches it easily.
86' Schmelzer, who did not have the best of days, is withdrawn for a more attacking option in Mario Gotze.
83' He hammered the free kick with his right foot and drove it into the bottom left corner. No one could have saved that!
82' NALDO SCORES!!! THAT"S SURELY THE GAME WON!
Assist Daniel Caligiuri
81' Schmelzer fouls McKennie in a dangerous area. A huddle of Schalke players stand over the free kick.
80' Batshuayi finds himself behind the defence but couldn't connect with the incoming pass.
79' Substitution Mahmoud Dahoud Jadon Sancho
78' Burgstaller picks up a yellow card for a heavy challenge on Sokratis when the ball had already gone.
76' Back to back half chances for the visitors! Neither find the back of the net, but momentum is definitely swinging their way now.
74' Not resting on their laurels, Schalke take off the goalscorer Konoplyanka for forward Marko Pjaca.
73' McKennie makes an immidiate impact! He plays a one-two with Caligiuri into the box before the ball is crossed over to Konoplyanka who sends the ball back to centre, but no one is there to meet it. Burki will take the goal kick.
71' It's a like for like swap from Tedesco as Bayern Munich bound Leon Goretzka makes way for Weston McKennie.
Reus is found in space on the right and whips in a fantastic ball to Pulisic who hits it first time, but it soars over Fahrmann's crossbar.
69' Dortmund are starting to claw their way back into this match. Schalke will likely make a tactical or personnel shift soon.
67' Reus did get a shot off during the aftermath of the penalty shout, but it was saved by Fahrmann.
66' PULISIC GOES DOWN IN THE BOX.... but the referee decides it's neither a penalty nor a dive.
63' Stoger's men continue to try and play out from the back but Schalke are making that a difficult task thus far.
61' Lukasz Piszczek picks a up a yellow after blundering into Harit from behind in the Dortmund half.
60' Another attempted ball into Batshuayi, but they just cannot find him today.
58' Pulisic flashes the skills on the right side for the visitors, but attempts a trick too many and is dispossessed.
56' Harit finds himself in acres of space on the left, takes a step inside, and passes the ball into Burgstaller who can't get a shot off before the ball rolls out of play. Goal kick to Dortmund.
53' Dortmund have a tough task ahead of them now seeing as they have scored one goal or fewer in three of their last five matches.
50' Caligiuri did well to hold onto the ball and wait for the run of Konoplaynka before laying it off to the Ukrainian.
KONOPLYANKA SCORES!!! Just seconds after he was harshly judged for a foul in the Dortmund box.
49' Konoplyanka beats three men down the right, cuts infield, but is called for a foul on Sokratis who went to ground easily.
46' Schurrle comes on at the half for Maximilian Phillipp.
We're back underway!
The visitors will need to get Batshuayi more involved as he has the second most goals for Dortmund this season (7), only behind the departed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The halftime scoreline (0-0) is not exactly revolutionary for these two sides as four of the last five Revierderby matches have gone into the break scoreless.
It's definitely been an exciting back-and-forth affair thus far but neither side have anything to show for it thus far.
The whistle blows for half time!
45'+1 Konoplyanka cuts in from the left whips in a dangerous shot that beats Burki... but it's just wide.
45' Now an overhead ball to Batshuayi. Dortmund reverting to route one stuff as the half winds down.
44' Dortmund try lofting a ball forward to Reus but Naldo easily heads it away from danger.
42' Very quiet day for central midfielder Nabil Bentaleb. Schalke will need better from him if they intend on winning today or securing a Champions League place.
41' Konoplyanka is starting to dominate the left wing, but is struggling to connect on most of his passes infield.
39' Give and go stuff from Schalke down the left wing before Sokratis kicks it out for a throw in.
38' Right on cue, the Italian launches a right footed shot from outside the box, but it's blocked.
36' Caligiuri shows his strenght by shielding the ball from a pair of Dortmund players. The right wing back is having a fantastic match thus far.
33' Schemlzer is barged into by Burgstaller and goes to ground. He gets up slowly and is grabbing his ankle, though it would be surprising if he didn't continue.
31' Some loose passing from both sides in the middle of the park. Been a fairly balanced affair thus far.
28' Dahoud goes in hard on Caligiuri and it'll be a free kick to Schalke.
26' Schalke being uncharacteristically loose with their shooting considering they boast the second best shot accuracy in the division (43.13%).
25' Free header for Kehrer, but he fails to get his effort on target.
24' Reus to take a free kick from a dangerous area... it's a powerful swerving shot but Fahrmann does well to deflect it away.
20' Piszczek sends in a cross from his right back spot, but it's too heavy and finds a blue shirt rather than a yellow one.
18' Konoplyanka surges up the left, beats his man, whips in a great near post cross to Burgstaller, but the striker is just beaten to the ball by a sliding Dortmund defender. Corner to the home side.
16' Sahin leaps over Burgstaller for a headed ball, but goes through the forward's back and a foul is called.
13' Schalke's leading goalscorer, Burgstaller, gets his first couple of touches of the match! He gets a shot off but it trails left and fails to trouble Burki.
10' Reus finds himself behind Schopf but lashes at his cross and it goes behind for a goal kick.
7' Harit takes a shot from outside the box, but it sails wide right of the target.
6' Schopf cuts in from the left and unleashes a powerful shot that Burki did incredibly well to parry behind for a corner.
5' The hosts look a bit shaky at the back in the early stages.
4' Two suspect backpasses by Schalke already! Corner to Dortmund.
3' Despite the formatting of the hosts line up, Schopf is currently playing out left with Caligiuri playing on his more familiar right.
1' And there it is! We're underway from the stadium formerly known as the Arena aufSchalke!
Handshakes are now out of the way. Just waiting on the whistle to begin the match!
Absolutely fantastic atmosphere at the VELTINS-Arena as the players walk out of the tunnel! Not long to go now!
Matija Nastasic is a big miss for Schalke's defence. The Serbian misses out through suspension and injury.
Dortmund (4-2-3-1): Burki; Piszczek, Sokratis, Toprak, Schmelzer; Dahoud, Sahin; Pulisic, Reus, Philipp; Batshuayi.
Schalke (3-4-1-2): Fahrmann; Stambouli, Naldo, Kehrer; Schopf, Goretzka, Bentaleb, Caligiuri; Harit; Burgstaller, Konoplyanka.
Now let's take a look at the starting line ups for each of these sides!
There should be plenty of goals as well seeing as only two of the previous 10 editions of this match ended scoreless, and few will have forgotten the thrilling 4-4 result in the reverse fixture last November.
We should be in for an exciting Revierderby as both try to claim a spot in next season’s Champions League!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of Schalke v Borussia Dortmund!
