Minute   Description
It's a 10-day rest for the Cherries now, before they head to relegation-threatened Southampton in what could very well be the match to clinch their Premier League status – but United have the more pressing matter of a trip to Wembley to face Tottenham Hotspur. Will the Red Devils make safe passage to the final? Until then, thank you for joining us and have a good week!
For the first 15 minutes of the second half, it looked like the Cherries might mount a comeback. Instead, their hunt for a win continues; a 70th-minute strike from Romelu Lukaku was enough to ensure that Jose Mourinho's men signed off preparations for the FA Cup semi-final in inspired fashion. Full-time at the Vitality Stadium, it finishes Bournemouth 0-2 Manchester United.
90'+4 Ake puts a flat cross in from the right looking for a final chance; United clear and the referee blows for full-time!
90'+2 Wilson and Defoe chase a through-ball down the left; Matic tracks it back to his keeper and De Gea claims the simple tap.
90' Four added minutes on the way as Bournemouth swing a corner in and concede a foul in the opposition box. De Gea to take the free-kick.
89' Martial lobs a neat cross in for Lukaku; it skips over the striker's head and Daniels clears for the hosts.
87' A calamity tumble from Blind in the box as the striker tries to connect with a flat pass from Martial and misses entirely.
86' It's not been a bad night for David De Gea in his first game as United captain; the keeper is heading for his 21st clean sheet of the season, a personal best at the Red Devils.
84' Francis and Fraser look to combine with Gosling in midfield; Blind cuts in and carves up their attack to put the Cherries into defensive mode for a moment.
82' Jermain Defoe is the final change for Bournemouth, as the veteran striker takes the place of King.
Close for Mousset! He just pushes a shot, laid on by Lewis Cook, high at the near-right post from inside the box. There may yet be something for the hosts in this- but time is running out.
80' Daley Blind is the final change for United - and it's Pogba who departs for the rest of the game in his place.
78' Gosling slips a through-ball crossfield to Fraser on the right who cuts back his pass into the penalty area; Smalling is there to clear, but only to 40 yards out where Bournemouth recollect and come again.
76' Martial brings down Fraser and is lucky to avoid a booking as the two jostle; Bournemouth get the free-kick in their own half.
75' Dan Gosling arrives for Bournemouth now, taking the place of Surman; do the hosts have something special up their sleeve to snatch a point?
72' Herrera departs as the game restarts with Nemanja Matic taking his place for United's second change.
70' There were questions pre-match whether his selection spelled trouble for a starting berth against Tottenham on Saturday but Pogba is definitely writing himself onto that teamsheet with this showing. A fine controlled touch to set up the score.
GOAL! That's a brilliant United goal for Romelu Lukaku and the one that should give them the three points! Pogba finds himself in open space down the left and deftly edges a ball infield for the substitute who finishes with a clinical, excellent finish off his left foot inside the box. 2-0 to the Red Devils.
68' Surman is booked for a late challenge on Herrera that catches the United man in mid-air and from the free-kick, Rashford gets through on goal. The forward's shot is poor though; Begovic takes it at close range and denies the visitors a second.
67' Lukaku takes - and smashes it straight into the defensive wall. A poor effort from the Belgian, and Bournemouth clear to halfway.
66' Free-kick to United now, right on the edge of the 18-yard area, as Pogba comes down under pressure from Surman. A chance for the visitors to put this game to bed...
64' Corner to Bournemouth as Jones edges out Wilson in a foot-race for a Mousset through-ball. It's swung in wonderfully for the attacker - but he loses the ball under pressure from the defender again who stumbles and wildly grabs for a few seconds at his opponent's legs.
62' Lingard is off in United's first change of the game and Romelu Lukaku takes his place.
Now a booking for Steve Cook - and he is lucky to only get that, as he comes in studs up from the rear on Pogba. That could have been a straight red for the defender.
61' Smalling is booked now for a foul on Wilson, though the United man is not impressed with the call. Ake puts the free kick from the centre circle down the left for Bournemouth; Mousset's touch is a shade too heavy and the Red Devils counter through Pogba.
58' A barrage of half-chances for Bournemouth now as they shift to a 3-4-3 formation, after Herrera concedes a corner and Martial a free-kick on the right. The Cherries can't make them stick though and United manage to clear their lines after two minutes of sustained pressure.
56' Ibe is off now for the hosts and Lys Mousset takes his place. The substitute came off the bench to score against Crystal Palace in their last home game; can he create a leveller for his side?
Wilson! What a chance for the Bournemouth man, who lands a touch to a fabulous King cross from the left. Bang in front of goal, he can't get the power, and he appeals for a penalty, claiming Shaw held him back. Replays show that the United defender did indeed foul the forward - but referee Graham Scott waves play on instead to outraged cries.
54' Wilson tries to sneak into the United box, nipping after his own through-ball; Jones intercepts and taps back to De Gea.
52' Corner to Bournemouth after Wilson pins back Shaw; United are able to pick out a deflection off Surman and counter easily however, with Martial and Pogba racing away. Neither can make their passes stick though; the former's cut-back from the left is then swept away by Francis and the hosts recover their poise.
50' Ake and Rashford tussle on the right of the Bournemouth penalty area after Lingard puts a through-ball in; a deflection is fumbled out and the hosts get the goal-kick.
49' Lingard breaks and Lewis Cook catches him just outside the centre circle; the England man is booked for his clumsy effort
48' Martial manages to nip around the defensive pincer of Steve Cook and Francis to encroach upon the Bournemouth box; he slips looking to strike though and his shot takes a deflection away from danger for the hosts.
46' We're back underway at the Vitality Stadium; will United pile on the pressure to crush any chance of a comeback? Or will they pull back with an eye on Saturday's FA Cup semi-final?
An evenly-matched opening quarter gave little clue as to how this one would pan out - but a Chris Smalling score on the back of a lovely assist from Ander Herrera and Jesse Lingard opened up the taps for United who mustered almost twice as many shots as their hosts in the subsequent 20 minutes. The Cherries are still in with a shout - but they better make their chances stick sooner rather than later. At half-time, it's Bournemouth 0-1 Manchester United.
45'+1 Fraser turns in a flat pass that skips in front of the United goal near Wilson and King; Fellaini lands a touch to clear though and the half-time whistle goes.
45' One added minute on the clock for the first half and Bournemouth have a corner.
44' Close from King! The forward is handed a wonderful ball from Ake and he turns it in to De Gea who punches clear with speedy reflexes. It's a terrific strike from the right edge; the nearest the hosts have been to scoring.
42' Lingard feeds Martial in at the left edge of the Cherries' penalty area, and the striker plays it back outside to Pogba who tries his luck from in 25 yards in front; a deflection at close range off Surman foils his attack though and the hosts counter to midfield.
40' Pogba flicks a ball wide to the left for Shaw who returns it deep into the Bournemouth box looking for any of the attacking front three; instead, he only finds Begovic who scoops up possession with little trouble.
38' United play it back out to Shaw who returns it to Rashford on the left of the box; the striker rolls it off his foot and tries to cut around Francis, though he fails to get there before the ball runs out for a goal-kick.
37' Pogba wins a free-kick 30 yards out on the left after a Lewis Cook foul and Rashford lifts it into the box; a Cherries header clears it out for a corner.
35' Martial pushes a close effort wide at the far-right post as he meets a Pogba cross down the left; the flag is up however and the Cherries get a free-kick for offside.
33' Rashford and Martial combine down the centre of the field to feed a Pogba ball into the box; it takes a hit off Steve Cook and Bournemouth mop up the danger through Ake.
31' Now Fraser has a chance, nipping into the box and side-stepping Smalling; the United defender recovers enough to spook the Bournemouth man however who slips trying to out-turn him again and puts his shot softly to De Gea.
30' Bournemouth look to respond immediately from the off and almost do; Wilson gets released at speed downfield by a Surman flick-on and only the quick work of Jones shuts him down, the ball trickling instead to De Gea, who captains United tonight for the first time in his career.
28' Lingard will get the assist there but Herrera deserves just as much credit for that neat through-ball. Slick stuff from United; a well-worked, textbook team score.
GOAL! Lovely play from Herrera as, from a long corner, he slips a ball back into the box for Lingard. It's a deft touch from the forward who turns a flat open pass goalward - and Smalling arrives to poke it in! United hit the front with a fine team goal. Bournemouth might feel hard done by there but great quality from the visitors gives them the lead at the Vitality Stadium.
27' United clear their marks from the throw and then counter swiftly, slipping through the Bournemouth defence all too easily. Rashford puts a powerful effort on from the right edge of the box; Begovic tips it away and the Red Devils have a corner.
25' Corner to the hosts now as Wilson snakes into the box on the left and has Jones cut the ball away from under his feet. Bournemouth play it short into the box through Daniels; Jones again comes in to knock it away for a throw-in.
23' A wayward pass in the Bournemouth defence opens up a chance for Martial, but his effort from 25 yards out takes a deflection off a lunging Surman to open up a chance for a Cherries counter.
21' Offside now against the Cherries as, heading down the right edge, Wilson runs a shade ahead of Shaw to track down a Francis through-ball.
20' Steve Cook comes up with another great tackle, this time on Lingard, to clear the Bournemouth box of any threat. The hosts look just as composed as their opponents so far, in an even opening quarter or so.
18' Martial dribbles into the box with worrying ease for the hosts; his touch to tee up a shot puts the ball to Francis six yards out though, who sweeps it clear to midfield with a lead-footed effort.
17' Ibe looks to slip a neat through-ball into the box for Lewis Cook from the right flank, only for a clipped interception from Shaw to put it to the feet of Pogba. United look to counter; Bournemouth get their defence back in good time to hold them in midfield.
15' Corner to United on the left now as Steve Cook again sweeps in with a great tackle. Rashford swings it in with more depth this time and it skips off Herrera to land at the feet of Lingard, who sees his attempt take a deflection into the arms of Begovic.
11' Another great chance for Bournemouth now, this time as Wilson lays on a chance from the left for Ibe just outside the box. The winger hooks his effort wide to the left and grimaces; that was a rather good position, wasted with a cheap effort.
10' Wilson is through on goal for the Cherries after a slip-up from Jones in defence; the United man manages to double back though and outmuscle the striker, forcing his attempt wide to the right.
9' United are clocked for offside again, this time as Fellaini drifts ahead of the defence looking to pick up a Pogba cross from the left at the far-right post.
8' Fraser and Daniels look to execute a one-two around the United backline on the left; they're met with limited success however and Smalling is able to intercept.
6' Rashford hounds after a through-ball down the left from Jones; the offside flag goes up and Bournemouth have the free-kick deep in their own half.
4' A great tackle on Martial from Steve Cook halts the United forward's attempt for a cut-back cross inside the box but does give the visitors a corner on the left. They can't swing it in close enough though and Ake has no trouble clearing from the penalty area.
3' Daniels plays it short with Lewis Cook and the strike comes off the United wall; the visitors counter downfield and ease the danger away.
2' Free-kick to Bournemouth now, as King is fouled by Herrera 22 yards out to the left. An early chance for the hosts here...
1' Referee Graham Scott blows the whistle and we're underway in this Premier League clash. The hosts press the opening attack down the left; Daniels slips down the left flank and looks to twist a flat cross into the box, only to be pressured out by Darmian for a goal-kick.
The teams are out at the Vitality Stadium and we're moments away from kick-off.
Substitutes: Matic, Lukaku, Pereira, Young, Sanchez, Bailly, Blind
MANCHESTER UNITED (4-3-3): De Gea; Darmian, Smalling, Jones, Shaw; Herrera, Fellaini, Pogba; Lingard, Rashford, Martial
Substitutes: Boruc, Arter, Gosling, Mousset, Simpson, Defoe, Pugh
AFC BOURNEMOUTH (4-4-1-1): Begovic; S Cook, Daniels, Ake, Francis; Surman, L Cook, Fraser, Ibe; King; Wilson
As for the hosts, they only make a pair of swaps from the side who went down 3-0 to Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday; Jermain Defoe and Dan Gosling drop to the bench as Andrew Surman and Callum Wilson both return to action.
Team news then and Mourinho rings the changes – seven of them in fact. Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku the biggest names to make way, but Paul Pogba remains as Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, and Matteo Darmian are among those brought in, the latter for his first Premier League start since October.
Both sides will want a return to winning ways for differing reasons; Bournemouth will have one less game than several of their key rivals in the mid-table scramble after this match and three points will lift them away from the chasing pack led by Watford. As for United, they want to at least finish second after missing out on the title; victory will put space between them and Liverpool.
Jose Mourinho's side slumped to a shock defeat against bottom side West Brom over the weekend to hand their rivals Manchester City the Premier League crown, having denied them a victory parade at the Etihad Stadium. The FA Cup remains their only chance of silverware – and with a semi-final clash against Tottenham on Saturday, sweeping changes have been made to the starting XI.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the 2017-18 Premier League as Bournemouth look to arrest a three-game winless streak against Manchester United at the Vitality Stadium. Eddie Howe's men are 10 points above the bottom three in 11th; can they spring their first top-flight victory over the Red Devils since 2015 to all but secure their place at the high table next season?
