Commentary

Minute   Description
An excellent performance in the second half sees David Moyes' rack up his 200th Premier League win as manager and West Ham pick up an important three points in their bid to steer clear of the relegation zone. Marko Arnautovic scored within 11 seconds of the second half starting, flicking the ball over the head of his marker and firing into the bottom corner. Huddersfield pressed high and chased desperately for a second goal but they were caught out by the hard-working Arnautovic and the brilliant Manuel Lanzini, with the latter capping off two counter-attacks with well taken goals to put the game well beyond the home side. The win means West Ham climb to 11th, five points clear of the danger zone. Huddersfield, meanwhile, drop to 13th.
FULL-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD 1-4 WEST HAM UNITED.
90'+1 A minute left here and Huddersfield have been resorting to launching the ball towards Depoitre for the last 10 minutes or so, without success.
90' The fourth official has indicated two minutes of additional time.
88' It is all midfield possession for Huddersfield now as the final few minutes tick away. West Ham are happy to camp in their own half and not allow the home side any route forward.
85' Manuel Lanzini is replaced by Declan Rice in West Ham's second change of the afternoon, after an impressive performance in which his two second half goals put the game well beyond the reach of Huddersfield.
83' Marko Arnautović is off. He has had an impressive afternoon, scoring one and assisting two of West Ham's four goals. André Ayew replaces him.
80' There is just under 10 minutes plus injury time left to play here but this game has long since ended as a contest. Huddersfield are seeing plenty of the ball but West Ham are dealing with everything that is being thrown at them with relative ease.
77' Another Huddersfield corner is headed clear and West Ham are dealing much better with these set pieces than they were in the first half. There is no way through for the Terriers.
76' Aaron Cresswell is booked for time wasting.
74' Good save! Pritchard's free-kick deflects off Jonathan Hogg but Adrian is wise to the redirection and palms it wide of his goal, before it is cleared away from danger.
73' Some good link up play between substitute Pritchard and Depoitre on the edge of the West Ham box, with Collins bringing down Pritchard before he can latch onto the return pass.
71' Tommy Smith is replaced by Terence Kongolo.
70' A Huddersfield corner is cleared as far as Scott Malone around 40 yards from goal. The defender tries a half-volley, which flies horribly wide of the left post. It all looks a little too late for the home side.
68' Huddersfield causing problems for West Ham again with the crosses before James Collins manages to fire the danger clear.
65' Goalscorer Joe Lolley is replaced by Alex Pritchard.
64' Huddersfield continue to push for their second goal and this could get worse before it gets any better for the Terriers if they continue to leave themselves open to the counter.
61' Marko Arnautović makes a good run into the Huddersfield box before allowing the ball to roll into the path of Lanzini, who fires into the top-left.
GOAL! Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini link up once again and this should be game over now. Arnautovic this time making a powerful run into the box, allowing the pressure from the Huddersfield defenders to roll the ball into his Argentine teammate. Lanzini takes one touch before firing a driven effort into the top-left corner.
59' Huddersfield are trying hard to find their way back into this game but the Hammers players' are back in numbers to snuff out any danger.
56' GOAL! Arnautovic links up with Manuel Lanzini once again and this time the Argentine playmaker makes no mistake, firing a low effort into the bottom-left corner from the right of the box. There were hints of offside but nothing given. Huddersfield have it all to do now.
Marko Arnautović slots a through ball into the path of Lanzini, who fires in West Ham's third goal.
54' West Ham continue to look the more dangerous of the two sides. Lanzini and Arnautovic link up well on the counter-attack but Lanzini opts to shoot from range inside of returning the ball to the West Ham forward for a simple tap-in.
52' Close! Cresswell's delivery is a good one and it is a mess inside the Huddersfield box. Angelo Ogbonna heads the ball at the back post towards goal and it takes Mooy two attempts before he can fire it clear from danger. Huddersfield escape but that could have gone anywhere.
51' West Ham look to be clean through but Pedro Obiang's final pass is very poor, allowing Huddersfield to clear for a corner.
49' The impetus is on Huddersfield now to get on the front foot and once again find their way back into the game. Dreadful start as far as they're concerned to this second half.
46' Cheikhou Kouyaté plays the pass towards the edge of the box for Arnautovic to take under his control and fire West Ham back into the lead.
GOAL! West Ham are on the front foot straight from the off and Marko Arnautovic ensures it results in a goal. The Hammers striker does well to bring the ball under control before flicking it over the head of Smith and firing a left-footed powerful effort into the bottom left corner.
We're back underway!
The players are back out on the pitch, ahead of the start of the second half.
Level at the break and for much of the first half it was a very tame affair with little in attack from both sides. A disastrous mistake from Joe Lossl's goal kick to Joe Lolley allowed Mark Noble to step in and fire West Ham into the lead, but Lolley redeemed himself with a wonderful individual goal, turning Noble and racing into the box before curling an effort into the far corner.
HALF-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD 1-1 WEST HAM UNITED.
45'+2 A lively end to the half from both sides but that final pass is still failing to find the breakthrough.
45' The fourth official indicates two minutes of additional time.
44' Another Huddersfield corner and another near-post flick-on causes problems in the West Ham box. Arnautovic is on hand to hammer it clear though.
43' The Huddersfield fans have found their voice again and the John Smith's Stadium is rocking again.
40' GOAL! Absolutely brilliant strike from Joe Lolley. The midfielder turns Mark Noble inside the West Ham box. He is gifted yards of space and the midfielder takes full advantage, curling a brilliant left-footed effort into the far post and well beyond the reach of Adrian. Game on!
Aaron Mooy plays the pass down the right wing of the pitch that allows Lolley to work his way inside the box and score the Huddersfield equaliser.
38' Huddersfield earn another corner kick. Mooy's delivery finds Schindler again at the near post but this time his header is over the crossbar.
35' Aaron Cresswell's delivery from the corner is over the heads of everybody in the box and straight out of play. The final ball from both sides has been poor this afternoon.
34' West Ham earn their first corner of the afternoon after good work on the right wing. Huddersfield are unable to keep hold of the ball now.
31' Tommy Smith is booked for a foul on Lanzini.
30' Huddersfield show their first real sign of attacking threat as Tom Ince powers down the left wing and swings in an inviting low cross across the face of goal. Laurent Depoitre is unable to get there quick enough to latch onto it though.
27' Huddersfield have seen plenty of possession but have offered very little going forward. That West Ham goal will surely mean the home side will have to push out more and apply higher pressure on the Hammers?
25' GOAL! Horrendous mistake from Lossl, who's short pass from a goal kick puts Joe Lolley under tremendous pressure. The pressing from Arnautovic allows Mark Noble to nick the ball, charge into the box and power a right-footed effort beyond the reach of the helpless Terriers' goalkeeper.
24' West Ham are showing great possession and build up play to the point where the Huddersfield players are chasing shadows. The final ball is sorely lacking though.
21' Huddersfield find some space on the right wing but Smiths cross is easily dealt with by the Hammers defenders.
18' More good build up play from West Ham as a long ball finds Cheikhou Kouyate running in behind the Huddersfield defence. The midfielder just runs out of room as he tries to play it into the box. West Ham are starting to take a bit of control of this tie now.
15' Mark Noble pings the ball towards the left wing for Masuaku, who has Tommy Smith isolated. The winger is unable to keep the ball in play though.
14' Its been a comfortable start to the game for both goalkeepers so far. Neither side have offered any real threat in the final third. Even start to the game so far.
11' Manuel Lanzini shows excellent pace to drive West Ham forward. His through ball for Marko Arnautovic is initially cut out by the Huddersfield defenders but the forward gets a second opportunity to lay it back into the path of Arthur Masuaku, who can only take a poor touch and allow the ball to roll safely back to Jonas Lossl in the Huddersfield goal.
8' All Huddersfield at the moment. Aaron Mooy finds space to race down the left wing but he is forced to play it backwards after meeting a wall of West Ham shirts en route to the box.
6' A good delivery finds Christopher Schindler at the near post. He flicks it on into space inside the six yard box but no teammate took the gamble to get on the end of it.
5' Huddersfield earn themselves an eventual corner with their first foray forward. Can they make something of this?
3' The fans are making plenty of noise in these opening minutes as Huddersfield start off with some comfortable early possession. Great atmosphere!
1' We're underway!
The teams are out on the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick off.
West Ham United substitutes: Chicharito, Ayew, Hart, Burke, Cullen, Rice.
West Ham United XI (3-5-1-1): Adrian; Collins, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Zabaleta, Kouyate, Noble, Obiang, Masuaku; Lanzini; Arnautovic.
Huddersfield substitutes: Kongolo, Sabiri, Coleman, Williams, Pritchard, Mounie, Hefele.
Huddersfield XI (4-2-3-1): Lossl; Smith, Zanka, Schindler, Malone; Hogg, Mooy; van La Parra, Ince, Lolley; Depoitre.
Here are how the teams will be lining up this afternoon...
The Terriers have already strengthened early in the transfer window by bringing in midfielder Alex Pritchard from Norwich City and he’s on the bench today.
Second-half goals from Pedro Obiang and Andre Ayew proved the difference when the sides last met back in September, West Ham claiming a 2-0 win.
Much of Huddersfield's success this term can be attributed to the club’s strong home form and the Terriers must surely fancy their chances of getting another victory on home soil. The Hammers, meanwhile, are enjoying steady progress under new boss David Moyes and are four games unbeaten in all competitions – a run that includes a 1-1 draw at Tottenham last time out in the league.
Just two points separate the sides after 22 matches – but there’s no doubt that Huddersfield fans are far happier with how the 2017-18 season has panned out to date.
The countdown to kick-off starts here!
Good afternoon and welcome to live text commentary of this afternoon’s Premier League clash between Huddersfield Town and West Ham.
