Commentary

Minute   Description
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Luis Enrique's men remain level on points with Real following Zinedine Zidane's side's win over Sevilla. Real have a game in hand, meaning that the title race remains out of Barca's control. They will have to hope that their bitter rivals slip up in one of their two final matches to have any hope of securing the crown.
Barcelona did what they had to this evening, keeping the pressure on Real Madrid at the top. Neymar was outstanding in the contest and notched a deserved hat-trick, with two neat finishes in the second half helping his side pull away from Las Palmas who show fight after the break.
FULL-TIME: LAS PALMAS 1-4 BARCELONA
90'+2 The referee ends the contest.
SHOT! Jese goes for goal with the final kick of the game, but Ter Stegen makes a comfortable stop.
90'+1 SAVE! Messi collects a pass on the edge of the box and unleashes a powerful strike at goal, only to see his effort well saved by Varas, who turns the ball over the bar.
90' There will be two minutes of added time.
89' BLOCK! Boateng powers the ball across the face of goal, but Marlon gets there ahead of Hernan to make the intervention for the visitors.
87' CHANCE! Neymar surges down the left flank and gets to the byline before teeing up Alcacer for the strike, but Michel deflects his effort over the bar.
86' The visitors search for a fifth goal and Denis Suarez raids down the right flank before cutting the ball back into the middle, but Lemos hacks the ball to safety.
85' Viera makes way for Castellano.
Messi's strike hits the wall and the home side are able to clear the danger.
84' Barcelona have a free-kick in the range of Messi. Can the Argentine get on the scoresheet this evening?
82' Barcelona are just knocking the ball around with ease at the moment. Enrique will not want to risk any injuries or suspensions at this stage in proceedings.
81' UPDATE! Real are now 3-1 up against Sevilla.
79' Denis Suarez replaces Rakitic for the visitors.
Alcacer replaces Suarez for the visitors.
78' Hernan replaces Mesa for Las Palmas.
76' WIDE! Iniesta slides the ball into Messi in the left inside channel and he goes for the strike, only to smash his effort wide of the post.
74' Barcelona are rampant now and have full control of the game. Enrique will not have been happy that his side allowed Las Palmas back into the contest, but they responded in turn with a dominant phase.
72' Halilovic replaces Momo for the home side.
71' Alba slides a ball down the channel to Neymar, who does the rest with a neat finish.
GOALLLL!!!! NEYMAR COMPLETES HIS HAT-TRICK! The Brazilian notches his third goal of the evening as he latches on to a throughball in the inside left channel and lifts an effort over Varas into the net. A good strike from the Brazilian, although the ball may have taken a slight deflection on its path to goal.
67' Rakitic lifts a dangerous cross to the back post and Neymar meets it with a good header to find the net.
GOALLL!!!! NEYMAR NOTCHES HIS SECOND! Barcelona notch their third of the game to re-establish control of the game. Rakitic sends the ball long to the back post and Neymar heads it down across to the bottom corner, where it nestles in the back of the net. Suarez attempted to get a touch on the end and it's good that he failed as he would have been flagged offside.
65' Bigas does down with an injury and may have to make way here.
63' Boateng fires a low ball across the face of goal and Bigas is there to turn it into the net.
GOALLLLL!!!! LAS PALMAS ARE BACK IN IT! Bigas starts and finishes the goal scoring move as he wins the ball at the back before continuing his run into the Barcelona box before sliding an effort past Ter Stegen. The defender intercepted a throughball from Iniesta and fed the ball out wide to Momo, who in turn found Boateng in the box. The forward's low cross was met by Bigas on the slide, steering his effort into the net.
61' OVER! Bigas meets a corner from the left delivered by Viera, but the defender can only guide his effort over the bar.
60' CHANCE! Momo slides the ball into the feet of Jese in the box, with only Ter Stegen to beat. However, the striker sees his effort saved by the Barcelona keeper.
59' Helder Lopes raids into a dangerous position down the left flank and he sends a low cross into the box, but Umtiti sweeps away the danger.
58' Digne is withdrawn and replaced by Gomes.
55' OVER! Messi plays a one-two with Alba to create a shooting opportunity in the box. The Argentine seems destined to score, but Lemos deflects his goalbound strike over the bar.
53' Las Palmas pile on the pressure as Michel sends a dangerous low cross into the box. Barca try to scramble the ball away and are bailed out by a foul on Umtiti by Boateng.
52' OVER! Momo takes the set-piece and curls the ball over the wall with his left-foot, but his effort sails over the bar.
51' The home side win a free-kick in a threatening position as Viera is brought down by Busquets. Here is an opportunity for Las Palmas to threaten.
49' UPDATE! Sevilla have a goal back against Real Madrid. The score is now 2-1 to Zinedine Zidane's men.
48' CHANCE! Boateng latches onto Michel's cross at the near post and tries to guide his effort first time past Ter Stegen, only to put his effort wide of the post.
46' Straight from the kick-off Barcelona threaten. Messi slides a throughball between the two Las Palmas central defenders for Suarez, but the pace of the pass proves just to be too heavy for the striker to reach.
We're back underway in this LaLiga contest.
The players are back out on the pitch, so we should be underway again shortly.
The home side played well, but were undone by two moments of quality from Luis Enrique's men. First Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta and Suarez combined in a fine team move to set up Neymar for the opening. The Brazilian returned the favour to his strike partner with a sumptuous throughball allowing the Uruguayan to score the second.
Barcelona take a 2-0 lead into the break thanks to goals from Neymar and Luis Suarez. However, Las Palmas will feel hard done by as Lucas Digne was very fortunate to remain on the pitch after bringing down Jese in the early stages of the game.
HALF-TIME: LAS PALMAS 0-2 BARCELONA
45'+1 The referee ends the first half.
45' There will be one minute of added time. Viera was down for at least two minutes, so the referee has left us short changed here.
43' Iniesta slides a ball behind the Las Palmas backline for Suarez's run, but the Uruguayan is flagged offside. Replay show that the forward was in line with the last defender.
41' Alba puts the ball into the box and Messi flicks it into the path of Neymar in the inside left channel. However, Varas comes off his line to smother the ball at the feet of the Brazilian.
39' Jese raids down the left flank with menace and he forces the ball across the face of goal, but Marlon reads the danger and clears his lines.
38' SCRAMBLE! Varas is forced to come off his line to stop Busquets' long ball over the top finding Neymar and the keeper does well to take possession and then quickly offload to get back between the sticks.
37' WIDE! Rakitic loses possession on the edge of his own box and it allows Boateng to strike at goal, only to put his strike wide of the post.
36' The home side are continuing to enjoy a decent spell of possession, but just cannot break through the Bara defensive lines to open a clear sight at goal.
34' Jese latches on to a ball over the top, but he just cannot stretch to reach it ahead of Ter Stegen, who races off his line to gather. That was a close call for the visitors.
32' SHOT! Space opens up in the final third for the home side and Mesa drives the ball low at goal, but Ter Stegen is able to make a comfortable save.
31' OFFSIDE! Barca win a free-kick on the left flank and Messi curls the ball into the box. Suarez has a free header, but sends his effort over the bar. The striker was relieved to see the offside flag was up anyway against him.
29' Las Palmas were in the game five minutes ago, but now are trailing by two goals - such is the clinical edge the visitors boast in their attack.
27' Neymar delivers a spectacular throughball to pick out Suarez's run in the box and the striker makes no mistake with the finish.
GOALLLLL!!!! SUAREZ STRIKES! Barcelona double their lead just like that! Neymar returns the favour to his team-mate as he lifts a delightful throughball behind the Las Palmas defence for the Uruguayan's run. Suarez lifts the ball over the on-rushing Varas into the net. A great finish.
25' Suarez breaks the offside trap to collect Iniesta's pass and slides the ball to Neymar for the finish.
GOALLLL!!!!! NEYMAR PUTS BARCA AHEAD! Barcelona take the lead out of nowhere as two sublime passes from Busquets and Iniesta cut open the home side's defence. Suarez breaks free through the middle before sliding the ball to Neymar to tap home from close range. A super team goal.
Neymar collects Suarez's pass over the top and drives to the byline, but he overhits his cutback into the box. A wasted opening for the visitors.
24' Despite their poor run of form, Las Palmas have started the game fairly well and are not letting Barca dictate the tempo.
22' Viera is able to return to the pitch without the need for a huge amount of medical attention. Hopefully that's a good sign for him going forward.
21' The stretcher and cart are out for Viera, who seems to be in trouble. Hopefully is able to continue this evening.
19' Digne and Viera jump in the air for the ball, and the Frenchman catches the Las Palmas winger on the back of the head with his elbow. The referee does not see the incident and the Barcelona defender may escape unpunished.
18' Las Palmas clear the danger and break down the left through Mesa. He just takes too much time to pick out a team-mate, slowing the move down. Jese keeps the attack alive by beating Iniesta and firing a low ball into the box, but Busquets clears.
17' Neymar probes down the left flank, but Michel and Momo double team him to keep the Brazilian at bay by conceding a corner.
15' Rakitic sends a low pass forward for Digne to collect, but Varas beats him to the ball in the right inside channel. Barca are beginning to come to life.
13' BLOCK! Alba raids down the left flank and puts the ball across the edge of the box. Messi strikes with power, but a wall of yellow shirts block his effort.
12' UPDATE: Not good news for Barca from Madrid as Real have taken the lead through Nacho against Sevilla.
10' Montoro does well in the middle of the park to weave his way past Iniesta and Busquets, but a lack of forward options halts his progress.
8' SAVE! Viera lifts his effort over the wall from the resulting free-kick, but his strike is saved with relative ease by Ter Stegen.
6' Controversy as Jese gets the better of Digne down the left flank and goes down on the edge of the box. The winger was through on goal, but the referee dishes out only a yellow card. That should have been a red for the Barca full-back.
OVER! Neymar lifts the resulting corner into the box and Messi runs to power a header at goal, only to send his effort over the bar.
5' Messi puts a teasing ball across the face of goal looking for the run of Suarez, but Helder Lopes is there to turn it past the post ahead of the striker.
3' CLOSE! Neymar sends a pass back to Iniesta, who puts the ball immediately into the box for Messi's run. However, the ball just skips off the surface and away from the Argentine as Varas gathers.
2' Viera has the chance to send the ball into the box from the left flank, but he can only curl his cross into the arms of Ter Stegen.
1' We're underway in this LaLiga clash.
The players are making their way out on to the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
Barcelona were forced into the late change as Javier Mascherano suffered an injury during the warm-up, with Marlon coming into the team off the bench.
Enrique has made two changes to his side that beat Villarreal last time out. Marlon and Jordi Alba come into the team to replace Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto, which could see Lucas Digne lining up at centre-back alongside Samuel Umtiti.
Las Palmas have made four changes from their defeat to Sporting Gijon last week. Michel, Helder Lopes, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Jese all come into the side this evening.
Barcelona subs: Denis Suarez, Turan, Cillessen, Alcacer, Gomes, Alena, Mascherano.
BARCELONA (4-3-3): Ter Stegen; Marlon, Digne, Umtiti, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta; Messi, Suarez, Neymar.
Las Palmas subs: Lizoain, Hernan, Artiles, Castellano, Garcia, Halilovic, David Garcia.
LAS PALMAS (4-1-4-1): Varas; Michel, Lemos, Bigas, Lopes; Montoro; Momo, Mesa, Viera, Jese; Boateng.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Las Palmas are struggling of late, losing their last three matches on the spin. Their safe in mid-table, but manager Quique Setien will want to end the season and his time with the club on a high note.
Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar have been in top form of late and they will need to maintain their levels of excellence to keep Barcelona in the hunt for the LaLiga crown.
The Catalan club responded well to their defeat at the hands of Malaga at the start of last month. They've reeled off five wins on the bounce, including a 7-1 hammering of Osasuna and a 4-1 victory over Villarreal last time out.
Barcelona need to keep their winning run going this evening to ensure that they take the title race into the final round of matches. Luis Enrique's men are level on points with Real Madrid at the top of the table, but their rivals do have a game in hand.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the LaLiga clash between Las Palmas and Barcelona at the Estadio de Gran Canaria.
