Commentary

Minute   Description
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
The only blemish today was the fact that Robert Lewandowski missed out on the golden boot as he failed to find the net, despite boasting a plethora of chances. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's brace for Borussia Dortmund today means that the award will be heading for the Gabonese rather than the Pole. Still 30 goals in a season is still a huge achievement for Bayern man.
Arjen Robben was outstanding with one goal and two assists today, and he started the scoring with a finish in the fourth minute. Arturo Vidal notched the home side's second, but Nils Petersen dragged Freiburg back into the game. However, two late strikes from Franck Ribery and Joshua Kimmich put the icing on the cake for Carlo Ancelotti's men.
Bayern send Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso off in style with an emphatic win over Freiburg this afternoon. They were far from their best in front of goal, but found their form late on to increase their margin of victory.
FULL-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 4-1 FREIBURG
90'+4 The referee ends the contest.
It's not the goal he wanted but Lewandowski notches an assist to end the season.
GOALLLL!!!! BAYERN HAVE FOUR! Lewandowski is frustrated as he notches an assist rather than a goal. He latches on to Coman's cross and can only steer the ball across the face of goal, but Kimmich is there to turn it into the net to notch Bayern's fourth goal.
90'+3 One minute left in the Bundesliga season and time is running out for Lewandowski to tie Aubameyang at the top.
90'+1 Robben continues his outstanding performance with a breakaway and precise pass for Ribery.
GOALL!!!!!!!!!! BAYERN SEAL THEIR WIN! Robben leads a lightning counter from back-to-front before placing the ball across the face of goal for Ribery to turn into an empty net on the slide. An excellent break and finish from the home side.
CHANCE! Niedelecher forces a header across goal from a free-kick and Kempf tries to steer the ball goalwards, only to be denied at the near post by Starke and Kimmich.
90' There will be four minutes of added time.
BLOCK! Lewandowski collects once again on the edge of the box, but he smashes his effort straight into Gulde. He has not been short of opportunities this afternoon.
88' BLOCK! Lewandowski goes for power from his effort, but he can only smash his strike into the wall. He appeals for a penalty, but the referee dismisses his claim.
Ignjovski makes way for Nielsen for the visitors.
87' The Allianz Arena stands to send off their great captain. Lahm makes his final bow for his hometown club to a huge ovation as walks off the pitch for the final time to be replaced by Rafinha.
86' Ribery is caught on the edge of the box and Bayern have a free-kick. Lewandowski will be demanding to take this set-piece.
85' UPDATE! Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored a brace this afternoon for Borussia Dortmund, meaning that the Gabonese has lifted himself above Lewandowski in the race for the golden boot.
84' Niederlecher latches on to a cross from Grifo at the back post, but under little pressure he scuffs his effort across the face of goal. It was hard opportunity to take, but it's one that could cost his side.
82' Alonso makes his final bow as a professional footballer as he leaves the field to a standing ovation to be replaced by Ribery.
80' It has not been Lewandowski's day in front of goal and his poor afternoon continues as he scuffs his strike from the edge of the box straight at Schwolow.
79' OFFSIDE! Niederlechner almost latches on to Hofler's ball over the top of the Bayern defence, but the flag goes up as the forward pokes his effort towards the net.
SHOT! Niederlechner lines up an effort from the left flank and his strike has the power and the direction to find the net, but Starke makes a smart stop to beat the ball away.
78' Robben cuts inside on his left foot and goes for power in the box, but his effort is well blocked by Kempf. Bayern now have work to do to restore their two-goal cushion.
76' Grifo has been impressive this afternoon and gets a reward for his fine play with an assist as he picks out Petersen with a precise throughball.
GOALLL!!!! PETERSEN STRIKES! Freiburg are back in the game and it's a deserved goal for their second-half exploits. They catch Bayern short on men at the back and Petersen collects a fine throughball from Grifo before taking a quality first touch and then with his second firing past Starke into the bottom corner with his left foot.
73' Robben opens up the Freiburg defence once again as he picks out his team-mate on the edge of the box.
GOALLLL!!!! VIDAL NOTCHES BAYERN'S SECOND! The Chilean delivers the crucial second strike for his team as he collects Robben's pass on the edge of the box and picks his spot with a low drive past Schwolow into the bottom corner.
72' Schuster replaces Frantz for the visitors.
Bayern attempt to turn the screw on the edge of the box as Robben and Vidal probe, but they cannot find a way through a wall of white shirts.
70' SAVE! Starke makes a fine save to keep Petersen at bay as he lashes the ball at goal with his left foot, but the veteran stopper makes the block with his feet before performing a second save with his body. Starke is determined to keep a clean sheet on his final appearance.
69' OFF THE BAR! Robben drops the shoulder to cut inside from the right flank and he drills an effort at goal with his left foot. However, the ball clatters off the bar and bounces clear before Coman sends his cross out of play for a goal-kick.
68' Haberer makes way for Petersen for Freiburg.
67' DISALLOWED GOAL! Bayern break with pace down the right and Lahm collects to fire a low pass into the feet of Muller, who dispatches his effort into the bottom corner. However, the whistle goes before he finishes as the Bayern skipper was in an offside position when he played in the cross.
66' SCRAMBLE! Grifo and Frantz combine in the box to force the ball into the path of Niederlechner. The striker tries to turn, but he just cannot generate enough power on his effort, allowing Alaba to clear the danger.
63' Bayern press back down the flank and Lahm lifts a cross into the box that Lewandowski meets with a looping header. It threatens the goal just enough to force Schwolow to turn the ball over the bar.
62' From the resulting corner from Grifo, Kempf rises highest in the box and guides a header towards the net, but it proves to be a comfortable save for Starke.
61' SAVE! Niederlechner latches on to a loose ball on the edge of the box and sends a left-footed effort on the half-volley towards the net, only for Starke to turn his strike past the post.
59' The visitors are pressing back into the game and without a lot of options Grifo goes for goal from the left inside channel, but once again the Bayern defence make a vital block.
57' PENALTY SHOUT! The visitors go up for a penalty against Kimmich for handball as Grifo knocks the ball into the box, but the referee dismisses their appeal.
56' BLOCK! Freiburg break down the right and Philipp collects a pass from Ignjovski before firing at goal. He gets a good connection on his effort, but Kimmich is there in front of his net to make a vital block.
55' Bayern have started the second half with the same impetus as the first, but are just lacking that clinical edge needed to pull away from Freiburg.
53' Vidal goes into the book for a foul on Philipp.
52' Grifo raids at the Bayern defence and slides a pass towards Niederlechner down the right inside channel. The forward takes touch, but it proves to be too heavy as Starke smothers the ball at his feet.
51' CHANCE! Alonso sends the ball into the box with a precise pass to Vidal down the right inside channel. He has an opening to shoot, but opts to tee up Lewandowski, only for Kempf to cut out the cross.
50' Bernat lifts the ball into the box from the left and Vidal makes a surge through the middle to latch on to the ball, but he just cannot make contact with his header.
48' Niederlechner breaks past Lahm and fires at goal from the left inside channel, but the flag goes up for offside as he shoots.
46' SAVE! Lewandowski latches on to a peach of a cross from Muller and guides an effort towards goal from close range. Everyone in the ground expects the ball to find the net, but Schwolow makes an incredible reaction stop to deny the Pole.
We're finally back underway.
The half-time stage and Anastacia are gone. So now we can get back underway.
The players are back out for the second half, but we cannot kick-off until Anastacia finishes the half-time entertainment.
Alexander Schwolow has had a solid game between the stick thus far fro Freiburg to keep his side within striking distance. The visitors have had their moments at the other end of the pitch, with Mike Frantz and Vincenzo Grifo being denied by Tom Starke, while Janik Haberer put an effort wide from close range.
Incredibly this match has only had one goal, which came in the fourth minute through Arjen Robben to hand Bayern Munich a half-time lead. The home side have been all over Freiburg, but have been frustrated in their bid to notch futher strikes this afternoon.
HALF-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 1-0 FREIBURG
45' The referee ends the first half.
44' Muller and Robben go for the one-two exchange in the box, but the German's pass is well read by Kempf, who clears the danger.
42' Starke takes possession and almost puts his side in trouble as Philipp charges down his clearance. Niederlechner attempts to shoot first time to catch the keeper out of his net, but he pulls his strike wide of the post.
40' OVER! The resulting corner is cleared as far as the edge of the box and Alonso gathers. He goes for the strike on the half-volley, but there's no magic on this occasion as he fires over the bar.
39' BLOCK! Robben cuts inside from the right flank and goes for the strike with his left foot, but this time there are white shirts around him and Frantz diverts his effort wide of the post.
37' Freiburg launch a counter immediately and Niederlechner goes for the strike from distance, but he can only scuff his strike, allowing Lahm to clear the danger.
36' SAVE! Schwolow keeps his side in the game as Robben forces the ball across the face of goal and Lewandowski manages to collect under pressure from Gulde. He pokes a strike at the net from six yards, but the keeper makes a fine reaction stop.
35' CHANCE! Grifo finds space down the left flank and he drills an effort across the face of goal. Starke is forced into a smart save, but the ball comes back to the winger. He tries to put the ball back across the box, but the Bayern keeper is able to gather.
34' MISS! Freiburg should be level as Philipp cuts the ball back to Haberer in the box, but he can only place his effort wide of the post with the goal gaping.
31' SAVE! Schwolow makes a fine save from close range to deny Kimmich as the youngster latches on to Muller's knockdown, but cannot beat the Freiburg keeper with his header from two yards.
29' Robben looks to carve out space for another strike at goal, but his attempted pass to Muller is deflected wide of the post. The Dutchman has been a constant threat this afternoon.
27' SAVE! Starke proves that he still has quality in the Bayern goal as he makes a great reaction save to deny Frantz. Grifo teed by his team-mate on the edge of the box and his right-footed strike was deflected upwards by Kimmich, but the veteran keeper was alert and made the stop.
26' BLOCK! Vidal pokes a throughball into the feet of Muller for a first-time effort, but Kempf makes an important block to deny the forward.
25' Muller and Lewandowski almost combine on the edge of the box to tee up Vidal for a strike, but Ignjovski comes in at the vital moment with a challenge.
23' CLOSE! Robben's cross is cleared only as far as Vidal on the edge of the box and he hammers an effort at goal on the half-volley, but the ball just evades the target by inches.
21' Bayern are keeping Freiburg pressed inside their own half, with the visitors struggling to get a hold of possession.
19' OVER! Lahm wins a corner for the home side, and from the resulting cross from Alonso - Muller rises in the box, only to head his effort well over the bar.
18' DISALLOWED GOAL! For the second time in the game Lewandowski has an effort chalked off. This time he is offside as he latches on to Muller's pass and lifts his effort over Schwolow into the net.
15' Muller raids into the right inside channel once again, but this his cross is diverted behind. Bayern have been all over the visitors in the early stages of the game.
14' BLOCK! Muller feeds Robben and the Dutchman surges into the box. He weaves past two challenges to open up space for a strike on his left foot, but Gulde makes an important block to stop his goalbound effort.
13' OVER! Robben collects on the right flank and switches immediately on to his left foot to cut inside. He goes for the early strike, but hammers this effort well over the bar.
12' CHANCE! Alaba lifts a dangerous ball over the top of the Freiburg defence and Muller latches on to the pass to strike first time at goal, but Schwolow makes a fine reaction stop to keep the effort out.
11' Kimmich replaces Boateng for the home side.
9' A concern for the home side as Boateng goes down with an apparent injury. The defender will have to make way here.
7' Lewandowski nods the ball into the net from Lahm's cross, but the whistle goes before it nestles in the bottom corner for a foul against the forward on Gulde.
6' OVER! The visitors' first corner into the box is cleared, but they manage to keep the attack alive as Grifo feeds Philipp to strike. However, the forward puts his effort over the bar.
5' WIDE! Freiburg press back and the ball comes to Niederlechner inside the box and he turns to shoot, only to see his effort deflected just wide of the post.
4' Alonso notches an assist in his final game, although it will be one of the simpler of his career with a short pass to the Dutchman.
GOALLLLL!!!! ROBBEN FIRES BAYERN AHEAD! The Dutchman opens the scoring as he cuts in from the right flank and drills a left-footed strike across Schwolow to find the bottom corner. A great strike from Robben to hand his side a deserved lead.
3' SAVE! Muller raids down the right inside channel and lifts the ball to the back post once again for Coman to attack. The Frenchman guides his header towards the top corner, but Schwolow is there to make a smart save.
2' Robben lifts a dangerous cross to the back post from the right flank and Coman tries to head at goal, but the visitors do just enough to scramble it away.
1' We're underway at last at the Allianz Arena.
Starke and Alonso receive some sort of a decorative gift, while Lahm gets a new set of golf clubs. That's what you get for 20 years of quality service.
The future retirees are receiving quite the send off and some unusual gifts before we get underway here.
There will be a few presentations before kick-off, including a picture for keeper Tom Starke - who also makes his final appearance before retirement.
Lahm leads Bayern on to the pitch for the final time. We should be underway very shortly.
Freiburg have made two changes from their 1-1 draw against Ingoldstadt last time out. Vincenzo Griffo and Mike Frantz come into the midfield this afternoon to replace Amir Abrashi and Onur Bulut, with the latter missing out due to a toe injury.
Bayern have made three changes from their incredible win over RB Leipzig last time out. Kingsley Coman, Thomas Muller and Arturo Vidal come into the fold this afternoon, replacing Thiago Alcantara, Franck Ribery and Joshua Kimmich - who drop to the bench.
Lahm and Alonso start from the off in their final fixture. It would be no surprise to see them substituted late on in order to receive standing ovations.
Freiberg subs: Soyuncu, Abrashi, Nielsen, Kubler, Petersen, Schuster, Gikiewicz.
FREIBURG (4-4-2): Schwolow; Ignjovski, Gulde, Kempf, Gunter; Philipp, Hofler, Frantz, Griffo; Niederlechner, Haberer.
Bayern subs: Thiago, Ribery, Douglas Costa, Rafinha, Kimmich, Renato Sanches, Weinkauf.
BAYERN (4-2-3-1): Starke; Lahm, Boateng, Bernat, Alaba; Alonso, Vidal; Muller, Robben, Coman; Lewandowski.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Freiburg have enjoyed an impressive campaign and are currently sitting in sixth place. Christian Streich's men have their sights set on a place in the Europa League and will need at least a point to hang on to their placing this afternoon.
Bayern will be determined to send both men off with a victory, which will be their fourth on the spin to end the campaign.
It will be an emotional day for those two men and supporters across the world - who have taken great joy from seeing their ply their trade on the pitch over the last 20 years.
Alonso has also enjoyed a very successful career, spanning 18 years. He has won three titles on the bounce with Bayern since moving to the club in 2014. Before that he won the LaLiga crown with Real Madrid and two Champions League trophies - one with the Spanish outfit and the other with Liverpool. The 35-year-old was also part of the Spain side that triumphed at the 2010 World Cup.
It will be an especially emotional day for Lahm as he ends his 22-year career - all spent with Bayern. In that period he has made over 500 appearances for the club and won eight Bundesliga crowns along with the Champions League. Not to mention his international triumph with Germany at the 2014 World Cup - what a career he has enjoyed.
However, we will also say goodbye to two legends of the game - Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso, who will play their last competitive match this afternoon after two great careers in the sport.
Bayern have now won five titles on the bounce and due to the young core of players in their squad - their run of success seems like it will not come to an end anytime soon.
It's a day of celebration for Bayern as they will lift the Bundesliga crown following their outstanding campaign. Carlo Ancelotti's men will finish the season comfortably ahead of second-place RB Leipzig, highlighting their dominance at the top of the league.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and Freiberg at the Allianz Arena.
