23 September 2018 21:02

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees set an NFL record for the most career completions, surpassing Brett Favre's previous mark of 6,300.

Brees broke Favre's record by connecting with wide receiver Michael Thomas on a 17-yard pass in the second quarter against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

The 39-year-old boasts the NFL records for career completion percentage (67.1) and single-season completion percentage (72.0 percent in 2017).

He is also on pace to set a new all-time benchmark for career passing yards, with Peyton Manning's total of 71,940 less than 600 yards away.
