BREAKING NEWS: Koepka holds on to defend U.S. Open title

18 June 2018 00:30

Brooks Koepka became the first man in 29 years to defend his U.S. Open title with victory at Shinnecock Hills on Sunday.

The American – tied for the lead heading into the final round – held on in New York for a second major victory.

Koepka held off Tommy Fleetwood, the Englishman having fired a U.S. Open record-equalling seven-under 63 to surge into contention.

With his win, Koepka became the first man since Curtis Strange (1988-1989) to defend the U.S. Open.
